Expectations

 

       Participate in the introductory field session where the project topics and materials available for project development will be introduced and demonstrated to participants.  Project areas can include:

o   Nature literacy, with a focus on watershed-related topics

o   Nature Journaling

o   GREEN STEM – integrating technology (coding, robotics, electronics, engineering design, 3D printing) and watershed education

o   Hydroponics

o   Gardening and Composting

o   Weather stations (this will include data collection and analysis)

o   Environmental sensors (may include coding, robotics, and electronics)

o   Other topics linked to Watershed Education

       Choose a project area and develop initial ideas for classroom activities/lessons.

       Attend at least one summer workshop session (four will be held throughout the summer of 2023) where those initial ideas will be further developed, and materials provided.

       Implement your project in your classroom/educational setting during the fall 2023 school session.

       Present your project and findings at a mini-conference at the end of the fall session.

       Teachers participating in the grant and completing all components will receive a $150 stipend in appreciation of their time spent on expanding their educational tools with the CNRC’s support.

       Each teacher will also receive approximately $200 worth of materials related to the implementation of their selected topic.
